2016 Queer Career Conferences Galore

It’s hard to meet other individuals in the LGBTQ+ community. And it’s also hard living in a super heteronormative, cis-centric society. Gladly, there are conferences where you can not only meet other queers but also learn about issues and more specific communities within the larger LGBTQ+ community. Check out the ones below!

QGCON (Los Angelos, CA; Spring 2017)

Are you a queer gamer? QGCon is perfect for you then.

“The Queerness and Games Conference (QGCon) is an annual, community-oriented, nationally-recognized event dedicated to exploring the intersection of LGBTQ issues and video games. QGCon got its start at UC Berkeley, where it was hosted in 2013, 2014, and 2015. The fourth annual conference will be held in Los Angeles in the spring of 2017. The event is free and open to the public”

Lavender Law Conference & Career Fair  (San Francisco, CA; August 2-4 2017)

Calling all queer lawyers (or future lawyers) ! Do you want to be the next Annalise Keating?

“Lavender Law features concurrent workshops, general attendance sessions and specialty programming designed for family law practitioners, transgender advocates, corporate counsel and those interested in pursuing a career as a member of the judiciary.”

LGBT Leaders (Washington D.C, USA; December 8-11 2016)

Queer politicos, we have a conference for you!

“LGBT Leaders 2016 will bring together hundreds of openly LGBT leaders in government, politics, advocacy, business and community organizations.

Held in Washington, DC from December 8-11, attendees will experience three days of training, skills building, networking and discussion of key issues facing out LGBT leaders and their communities.”

Reaching Out MBA (Dallas, Texas; October 6-8th 2016)

Even though we already have a ton of queer business resources on this site, let’s just add another to round out this post.

“Reaching Out MBA is a 501(c)(3) organization that educates, inspires, and connects lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) MBA students & professionals/alumni, and their related graduates at business schools around the world.
